¿Qué es una YubiKey?
Una YubiKey es una llave física de seguridad por hardware fabricada por Yubico. Es un dispositivo pequeño (similar en tamaño a una memoria USB) que proporciona una autenticación en dos pasos sólida. Cuando inicies sesión en un servicio como Binance, necesitarás tanto tu contraseña COMO acceso físico a tu YubiKey.

¿Por qué usar llaves de hardware?
A diferencia de los SMS o las apps de autenticación, las llaves de hardware no pueden ser víctimas de phishing, SIM swapping ni verse comprometidas de forma remota. Incluso si un hacker tiene tu contraseña, no podrá acceder a tu cuenta sin la llave física.

Log in to Binance
Access your account with existing credentials
Go to binance.com and log in with your email/phone and password. Complete any existing 2FA verification if prompted.
Navigate to Security Settings
Find the security configuration page
Click on your profile icon in the top right, then select "Security" from the dropdown menu. You can also access it via Account > Security.
Select Security Key
Choose hardware 2FA option
In the "Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)" section, find "Security Key" or "Passkeys" option. Click "Enable" or "Manage" to proceed.
Insert Your YubiKey
Connect the hardware key to your device
Insert your YubiKey into a USB port on your computer. For NFC-enabled keys on mobile, you'll tap the key to your phone later.
Register the Key
Follow the on-screen prompts
Click "Add Security Key" and when prompted, touch the metal contact on your YubiKey. The key will blink while waiting for your touch.
Name Your Key
Give it a recognizable label
Enter a name like "YubiKey Primary" or "Blue YubiKey" so you can identify it later, especially if you add multiple keys.
Complete Verification
Confirm the registration
Binance may ask you to verify with your existing 2FA method (SMS, email, or authenticator app) to confirm the change.

Consejo de velocidad
La autenticación con YubiKey es en realidad más rápida que escribir un código de 6 dígitos. Una vez que te acostumbras, iniciar sesión toma solo 2-3 segundos. Lleva tu llave en el llavero para acceder rápidamente.
Solución de problemas comunes
YubiKey not detected
Try a different USB port. Ensure the key is inserted fully. For USB-C, check if you need an adapter. Restart your browser and try again.
Touch not registering
Touch the gold metal contact firmly for 1-2 seconds. The key should stop blinking when touch is registered. Clean the contact if needed.
NFC not working on mobile
Enable NFC in phone settings. Hold the YubiKey against the back of your phone (near the NFC chip, usually center-top). Remove phone case if thick.
Browser compatibility issues
Use Chrome, Edge, or Firefox for best compatibility. Safari may have limited support. Update your browser to the latest version.
Lost access to YubiKey
Use your backup YubiKey or backup 2FA method. Contact Binance support with identity verification if completely locked out.
Multiple accounts issue
One YubiKey can secure unlimited accounts. Each account registers the key separately. You don't need a new key per service.
