On-Chain Verification
OKX publishes the wallet addresses holding reserve assets on-chain. Anyone can verify the total holdings by checking these addresses on blockchain explorers. The on-chain balance must equal or exceed the total user balances represented by the Merkle root.
Third-Party Audits
Independent third-party auditing firms periodically verify OKX reserve data. These auditors confirm that the Merkle tree accurately represents user balances and that on-chain reserves match or exceed the reported totals.

Log Into Your OKX Account
Sign into your OKX account on the website or app. You need to be logged in to verify your specific account balance in the Merkle tree.
Navigate to Proof of Reserves Page
Go to the OKX Proof of Reserves page. You can find it under Assets or Security settings, or search for "Proof of Reserves" in the OKX help center.
Click Verify My Assets
Click the "Verify My Assets" or "Self-Verification" button. OKX will generate your unique Merkle proof - a cryptographic path from your balance leaf to the Merkle root hash.
Review the Verification Result
The verification shows that your exact balance at the snapshot time is included in the total reserves calculation. A green checkmark confirms your assets are accounted for. You can also use the Merkle root hash to independently verify using open-source verification tools.

Point-in-Time Snapshot
Each PoR report is a snapshot at a specific moment in time. It does not guarantee that reserves remain at the same level between reports. However, monthly reporting minimizes this gap significantly.
Cannot Prove Absence of Hidden Obligations
PoR cannot prove that an exchange does not have hidden off-balance-sheet obligations or secret agreements. It is one piece of the transparency puzzle, not a complete solution. However, combined with regulatory compliance and third-party audits, it provides strong assurance.
